Naomi writes from Uganda…

Just received the following from Naomi - please pray for her!

Hi!

I only have a few minutes to type. As a team we have had an amazing time so far with lots of adventures. We had a flat tire, lost a piece of an axle, the spare tire had a blow out, we got stuck in the mud for four hours in the deepest jungles of uganda right near the border of kenya and we had to push our car back to the main road, ate fish from lake victoria, crossed over the nile river, almost got attacked by a mob of angry bushmen, and watched two people get hit by motorcycles- and that was just the second day!

Personally it has been very hard on me- so please keep praying that I have the strength and patience I need. Yesterday was especially difficult.

I love you all. See you soon.

- Naomi

Interwoven throughout Shelvi’s breathtaking story Sunday morning of her escape from bands of armed rebels her were roving around the bazaars in a small town in eastern Sri Lanka asking for her by name, was a sizzling message to the Church - you are a people of power…just overcome your fear by His grace and witness the release of God’s power through you!

If you would be interested in receiving a copy of this message, let us know ASAP. We’re going to be burning a few CDs and need to know how many. The price will be about $8, including shipping and handling.

Safe arrival…

Shelvi arrived safely Friday evening. I had seen Naomi off at the airport that morning - she’s now in Uganda for two weeks to minister to the poor, to child soldiers, etc. Please pray for her safety now!

Continue praying also for our kids at the home on the east coast of Sri Lanka. They are doing very well at present. Pray especially for the pastor who is helping us with this project. He and his family are in danger…

I will not die, but live, and tell of the works of the LORD! Psalm 118:17 NASB

Shelvi arrived safely in Colombo a short while ago and leaves for home on the 7th. For friends in the Nashville/Franklin area, come hear Shelvi tell the story of her harrowing experience and miraculous deliverance at the The Gate on Nov. 9, 10:00 AM. For a map to The Gate, click on the link to the left.

Please keep praying for our coworkers on the east coast, and for the children we are trying to help.

Many thanks for interceding for Shelvi!

You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance…

Extreme pressure is being brought to bear on those who are trying to help my wife escape. The people who are doing this will stop at nothing, though they will certainly be stopped by the power of God through the prayers of His people…

Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow…

I spoke with Shelvi about an hour before the time this was posted. She is reasonably safe for the moment but is not leaving the place where she is staying. She was hoping to travel tonight (Sun. morning their time) overland to Colombo on the west coast, but has decided to wait for reasons I can’t explain here. She was finally able, after a couple of grueling, terrifying days, to get a good night’s sleep. She says she can feel everyone’s prayers and sends her love and gratitude. Pray that she will be able to leave as soon as possible. Pray for the national coworker and our children who are still in danger. More later…

Yea, though I walk through the valley…

Shelvi & company are not completely “out of the woods” yet, but are in a safer place. Thanks for praying for continued protection and guidance as they prepare for the next step.

The Lord is the defense of my life…

Fervent prayer is again urgently requested, now and for the next 48 hours. Thanks.
