Escape from Kabul

Just released in the U.S. - the amazing true story of the miraculous escape in 2001 of eight of Greg & Shelvi’s closest friends and coworkers from the draconian dungeons of the ultra-fundamentalist Taliban in Kabul, Afghanistan. The eight Western aid workers - Dayna Curry, Heather Mercer, Georg Taubmann, Diana Thomas, Margrit Stebner, Peter Bunch, Silke Dürrkopf, and Kathi Jelenik - spent three and a half agonizing months in prison and without God’s miraculous intervention (with a little help from the U.S. Special Forces) they would most certainly have been executed. Read their awe and faith inspiring story. The book contains 16 pages of photos.

. . . a little bit merrier Christmas!

gloves

Pakistani children, whose families were among the 3 million people rendered homeless by the devastating earthquake that struck the Himalayan region on Oct. 8, show off the new gloves they received from Shelter Now International, to whom we have thus far sent $25,000 for their relief efforts. SNI is also distributing winterized tents, ground cloths, stoves, cooked food, and other urgently needed relief suppies.

Though it wasn’t a very merry Christmas, and probably won’t be a very happy new year, these gifts will certainly make the harsh Himalyan winter just a little bit more bearable for our dear friends in Pakistan.

If you would like to help with these relief efforts, click on the “Contact Us” link on the right side of this page, drop us a note, and we’ll tell you how you can be involved.

Sri Lanka . . .

. . . still waiting and praying for government approval of our children’s home. The house has been bought and furnished and we have begun to sponsor tsunami orphans and widows in the places where they have been accommodated, and we hope to receive official permission soon.

Earthquake Relief
